Message: Alaska & Proud is a decent grocery store. It has a wide selection of food and fair selection of household goods. The store itself is not anything great to look at, but you are not in Alaska to see the scenery inside the grocery store. The employees are usually helpful and friendly as well. A&Ps prices are a higher than Fred Meyer or Walmart but you're paying for the convenience of a grocery store downtown.. The bakery / deli is not the cleanest in the world but I doubt it will kill you.
